What is a insulating glove testing device?

Time: 2025-07-14 Author: 铧正 Click: 12 Time

An insulating glove testing device is a specialized piece of equipment used to perform power-frequency withstand voltage tests and leakage current detection on insulating gloves. It is widely applied in industries such as electric power, railways, and mining to ensure the safety and reliability of insulating gloves during use. The device consists of two main components: a water tank and a control console. The water tank is divided into an upper section and a lower section. The upper section contains six small water tanks, while the lower section houses the test transformer. This configuration allows for simultaneous testing of six pairs of insulating boots or six insulating gloves, with the leakage current of each item displayed individually. The control console is equipped with functions such as overcurrent protection, zero-position protection, time protection, and an alarm system.

I. Main Functions

Withstand Voltage Test

Applies power-frequency high voltage (typically 0–30kV or 0–50kV) to insulating gloves to evaluate their insulation performance under high-voltage conditions.

Leakage Current Detection

Real-time monitoring of leakage current in each glove to determine whether its insulation performance meets the required standards.

Multi-Channel Testing

Capable of testing 3–6 (or even up to 8) insulating gloves simultaneously, improving testing efficiency.

Automatic Voltage Rise/Fall

Equipped with an automatic control system to achieve automatic voltage rise and fall, avoiding errors caused by manual operations.

Protection Functions

Multiple protection features, such as overvoltage, overcurrent, and flashover protection, ensure the safety of operators and equipment.

Data Recording and Printing

Real-time display, storage, and printing of test data for each glove, including voltage, current, time, and other parameters.

Intelligent Operation Interface

Equipped with a 7-inch true-color touchscreen and a full Chinese menu, making operation simple and intuitive.

II. Working Principle

Connect the device to a power supply of 0–220 V and adjust the power-frequency withstand voltage test bench. Based on the principle of electromagnetic induction in the test transformer, a high voltage of 0–30 kV at power frequency is generated and applied to each electrode, providing the specified test voltage to the insulating boots or gloves. According to the testing procedures for insulating boots or gloves, the relevant test parameters should be read and recorded.
